Sunway City (Pvt) Ltd has unveiled an ambitious roadmap for 2026, signalling a major acceleration in the development of its flagship Integrated Industrial Park and Special Economic Zone (SEZ). As detailed in the December 2025 newsletter, the developer is transitioning from foundational milestones to high-speed infrastructure expansion, aiming to solidify its position as a premier regional investment destination.
A central pillar of the 2026 outlook is the significant expansion of infrastructure capacity to accommodate a burgeoning industrial ecosystem. With over 40 investors already powering growth within the SEZ, Sunway City is set to begin the construction of additional factory shells. These ready-to-use structures are designed to provide plug-and-play infrastructure for manufacturers, drastically reducing the lead time for industrial setup and boosting national production activity.
Complementing the industrial surge is a major focus on regional connectivity and logistics. One of the standout priority projects for the coming year is the development of the Sunway City Inland Port. This facility is expected to transform the zone into a critical logistics hub, streamlining the movement of goods and enhancing the ease of doing business for exporters and importers alike. Furthermore, the construction of the Sunway City/Mabvuku Interchange is underway, a critical infrastructure piece that will improve traffic flow and link the industrial park seamlessly to major transport corridors.
The vision for Sunway City extends beyond industry to the creation of a holistic “Smart City.” This includes the development of a modern, self-sustaining urban ecosystem. In a move that will delight both investors and the local workforce, construction of the long-awaited Shopping Mall project is scheduled to commence in 2026. This commercial anchor will provide essential services and retail options, further enhancing the area’s appeal.
Residential development remains a key priority to support the growing industrial workforce. Servicing of medium-density residential stands is currently underway within a secure, gated community. These well-planned stands are designed to provide modern and affordable housing close to workplaces, reducing commute times and fostering a community-friendly environment.
