Regional property consultant Kura Chihota has premiered his book and roadshow “It’s NOT Monopoly: The Practical Guide to Property Investment” at the Sandton Convention Centre, launching what he has billed under the hashtag #MoneyIsMoving as a multi-city tour aimed at demystifying real estate investment for ordinary buyers and investors across southern Africa.
Announcing the premiere, Chihota invited members of the public interested in attending future stops to request a flyer with dates and venue details, confirming that the roadshow is currently scheduled to visit Cape Town, Johannesburg and Harare following its Sandton debut.
Chihota brings more than three decades of experience in property investment, development and portfolio management to the project, with a career spanning the Zimbabwean, South African and Botswanan real estate markets. He has held senior roles including National Leasing Manager of a multi-billion-rand property portfolio, Chief Property Investment Officer at one of Zimbabwe’s largest pension funds, and non-executive director positions with organisations such as the Johannesburg Housing Company, Fortress Income Fund, Putprop Limited and the Conservation Corporation Zimbabwe. He currently operates as a Regional Property Consultant with global realty group eXp Realty and runs his own consultancy, Kwasim Pty Ltd.
The title of the new guide, positioning property investment as distinct from the simplified, luck-driven mechanics of the board game Monopoly, reflects Chihota’s long-standing public messaging style, built around plain-language commentary on real estate fundamentals, capitalisation rates, REIT structures and cross-border investment rules for buyers moving capital between Zimbabwe, South Africa and beyond.
Chihota has built a reputation as one of the region’s most active voices on property investment education, having previously delivered training programmes for developers, keynote addresses to bodies including the Securities and Exchange Commission of Zimbabwe and the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange, and appearances at events such as the Township Real Estate Summit in Alexandra and the IFC Edge anniversary celebrations in Cape Town.
With the roadshow’s Sandton leg complete, Chihota’s team is now finalising details for the Cape Town, Johannesburg and Harare stops, with prospective attendees encouraged to register their interest directly for scheduling updates. The tour adds to a growing calendar of regional real estate literacy initiatives aimed at helping first-time and experienced investors alike navigate property markets across the SADC region with greater confidence.
