NEW ASPINDALE SCHOOL TO OPEN IN JANURAY 2027

Families in Aspindale and the surrounding suburbs will soon have a new school option. Atlas Primary School is set to open its doors in January 2027, at the start of Zimbabwe’s new school year, with a promise that every child belongs.

What sets the school apart, its founders say, is that accessibility was part of the plan from the start. Atlas Primary School is wheelchair-friendly by design rather than by later adaptation, so learners with mobility needs can move around the campus on equal terms with their classmates.

For parents of children who use wheelchairs, finding a mainstream school that is ready to receive their child from day one can be difficult. A school that is already accessible gives these families a place where their children can learn, play and make friends alongside everyone else.

Atlas Primary School will have links to the Atlas Sports Centre, which encourages young people to stay active and develop their talents. The centre’s facilities include tennis courts, where the Baseline Tennis Academy has been developing young players for 15 years.

Regular sport helps children build fitness, teamwork and confidence, and a school with sporting facilities close at hand can make it part of the weekly routine.

The school will open for the first term of the 2027 school year.

Parents who want to learn more can enquire about enrolment ahead of the January start.

Aspindale is an established Harare suburb with a mix of residential streets and community amenities, and the arrival of a new school adds to its education options.

As the opening date approaches, the school’s message to the community is the same one it has carried from the start: a child’s right to learn and belong should never depend on whether a building is ready for them.
