Some of Zimbabwe’s most prominent property developers, fund managers and industry executives are set to gather in Harare next week for a panel discussion on value addition and creation in the country’s real estate sector, forming part of the sixth annual ZIMREAL Property Investment Forum.
The forum, scheduled for 26 August 2026 at the Hyatt Regency Harare, The Meikles, will feature a session titled “Value Addition & Creation in Zimbabwean Real Estate,” examining how developers, pension funds and professional teams can collaborate to create more distinctive property assets. The discussion is expected to explore how such collaboration can enhance customer experience and, ultimately, revenue outcomes for stakeholders across the sector, with particular attention paid to demand trends and evolving design preferences among buyers and tenants.
The panel will be moderated by Simanga Madhlabuta, a partner at Turnbury Property Developers, who will guide a discussion featuring four panellists drawn from across the property investment and development landscape. They include Ken Sharpe, chief executive of WestProp Holdings, the forum’s lead sponsor and a developer behind several of Harare’s recent large-scale residential projects; Guy Briggs, principal and business operations director at DHK Architects; Tendai Chigudu, head of real estate at Mutapa Investment Fund; and Walter Zimunya, managing director at Radar Properties.
The composition of the panel reflects the forum’s stated aim of bringing together multiple sides of the property value chain — from architectural design and development execution to institutional investment and fund management — to address how the sector can respond to shifting market demands. Pension and investment funds have increasingly been cited as a source of capital for large-scale property developments in Zimbabwe, making their perspective a significant addition to a conversation focused on long-term asset value.
ZIMREAL has grown over its six editions into one of the more closely watched gatherings on Zimbabwe’s property investment calendar, drawing developers, financiers and design professionals for discussions on the state and direction of the built environment sector. This year’s panel discussion is one of several sessions expected to feature at the forum, with organisers positioning the event as a platform for frank engagement on the practical challenges and opportunities shaping real estate investment in the country.
With WestProp Holdings serving as lead sponsor, the forum arrives at a moment when large-scale residential and mixed-use developments are increasingly prominent in Harare’s property market, adding further relevance to a discussion centred on how the industry can deliver more distinctive, higher-value real estate assets going forward.
