Master Builders South Africa has confirmed Dr Tinashe Manzungu, President of the Zimbabwe Building Contractors Association (ZBCA) and Chief Executive Officer of Zimbuild, as a featured speaker at its Annual Congress 2026, set to take place at Zimbali, KwaZulu-Natal, from 3 to 4 September. The announcement reflects the growing regional stature of the Zimbabwean businessman, whose career has increasingly placed him at the centre of continental conversations on infrastructure and construction industry reform.
Dr Manzungu co-founded Zimbuild Property Investments, the construction and real estate company he now leads as Chief Executive Officer, and under his leadership the firm has become known for delivering landmark developments across Zimbabwe. His standing within the domestic construction sector was further cemented in 2026 when the ZBCA re-elected him as President for the 2026–2027 term following its National Annual General Meeting, a decision the association described as coming at a pivotal moment for an industry entering a period of unprecedented infrastructural development.
Beyond his national role, Dr Manzungu has built a reputation as a regional voice on infrastructure policy. He serves as Co-Chair of the Infrastructure Subcommittee on the COMESA Business Council, representing African business interests at the continental level and ensuring that industry perspectives inform policy and governance discussions well beyond Zimbabwe’s borders. This experience was on display as recently as September 2025, when he addressed delegates at a Master Builders Annual Congress, calling for urgent and coordinated infrastructure development across the continent and describing accelerated infrastructure delivery as a time-sensitive imperative rather than a mere policy aspiration.
His broader business background lends further weight to his platform. Manzungu previously served as President of the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce between 2020 and 2021, advocating for business owners and economic growth, and he chairs TM Group, a diversified business interest spanning several sectors. He holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from European City University.
His appearance at the 2026 Congress positions him to contribute meaningfully to discussions on regional trade, private-sector growth, corporate governance and sustainable infrastructure investment, themes that resonate strongly with an African construction sector navigating both opportunity and structural constraint.
