Longden Steel is a Zimbabwean structural steel engineering company which is 100% owned by a family trust. The company serves the local and regional construction industry. The company started business in 2003 from scratch- with no assets or expertise, but only driven by a passion to become the leading player in the industry. The business started operating from the Ruwa home of its founder, then moved to Gazaland Home Industry in 2004.
After moving into rented premises in 2005 the company purchased its own industrial stand in 2005 in Willowvale where it built its workshops Governance. The board of directors of Longden comprises of a non- executive Chairman, Mr,Batanai Chingwena(CA),3 non-executive directors with marketing, finance and legal qualifications. There are 2 executive directors who are the Managing Director and New Business Director.
The main board supervises management and staff through 3 board committees viz
- Finance and Audit Committee
- Corporate Governance and Remuneration Committee
- Marketing and Innovation Committee
The company has 3 functional departments which are New Business Department, Supply Chain Department and Finance and Administration Department. Commitment to Quality Longden has a quality management system derived from our Quality Policy that commits us to meet customer requirement and expectations consistently. In that regard we comply fully with all the engineering requirements set out in the standards like SANS 920:2005 and BS4449.
Capacity Longden Steel has the financial, technical, infrastructure capacity and competencies to complete projects on offer in the country. We are the preferred supplier to both Government and Private Sector organisations. We also have a good Safety record both at our workshops and at sites Our product range comprise all steel components that go into any building or non-building structure
