John Van Reenen and Lues Construction renovated and remodelled the existing building to suit the Halsted Builders Express business model

Why did Halsted Builders Express decide to open a branch in Marondera?

City sprawl towards the town from Harare first spiked our interest in considering the growth opportunity, and, on analysis of the Marondera market we also found it comprised of a number of growing industries including agriculture and education. Furthermore the market had identified a gap for a local and reliable supplier of building material, of which we recognized as a chance to provide a solution to the community.

Did they see a demand for their services and supplies that couldn’t be met by the Msasa branch?

A large number of Marondera residents were travelling great distances to purchase building supplies, not only to Harare but outlying towns as well. We wanted to offer Marondera and surrounds, the convenience of proximity.

Will the new branch carry the same range of goods as the Harare branches or is it a scaled down version? We do our upmost to ensure that all 8 of our branches carry all of our products and key lines, although the variety per product may vary from branch to branch depending on their specific customers. 80% of the products you can find in Harare will be in Marondera with the remaining products comprising of those specific to Marondera, such as agricultural products.

Where exactly in Marondera is the new Branch situated?

The new branch is situated on 63 Chicago Drive, the location was previously occupied by a prior business called Ultimate Warehouse. This is just off the main road on the right when entering the town from Harare, and is well sign posted.

What was simply Creative’ s role in your new branch?

Simply Creative are our nominated creative agents and were integral in assisting with the interior and exterior signage of this building.

Is there a coffee shop?

No we do not have a coffee shop in the branch, however the branch is situated within walking distance of two amazing local coffee shops- one of which is on the next door property.

The branch is open Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 5.00pm and on Saturdays from 8.00am to 1.00pm for your shopping convenience.
